Recently Finished Books: “Defector” by Susanne Winnacker

Hello all! I’m coming back at you with a book review. Hope you enjoy! 🙂

I just finished the second book to the Variants Series. It’s called Defector. Here’s the synopsis!

I think we all know sequels are usually not as good as the original book (except in a few circumstances), but personally, I thought this sequel was really, really great.

It kept you awake and not bored throughout the entire book, which is something that is so crucial for sequels.

In this book, you’re really in touch with the main character’s thoughts and feelings and why they’re changing. Her entire world is flipped and you get to see how her opinion on her “home” is changed to her new “home”.

All in all, it was a great sequel. I’m immensely looking forward to the third installment.

” ‘Do you ever think about how weird reading is?’ Our eyes are able to scan these different symbols and construct the scenarios and concepts they describe in our mind. And these concepts have the power to twist our emotions and make us cry and laugh and wow reading is weird. I think it’s one of the most beautiful things in the world.” –kayla-reads-books on Tumblr.
